1998 Erath Vineyards Willamette Valley "Pinot Gris: This is a deceptively complex wine; I say deceptively because the elements creep up on $13.00 Score: 88.0 " followed by subtle dry spice flavors (the winemaker suggests cardamom and ginger, and that wouldnt be far off the mark), and the spice grows in intensity as the fruit leans out to a clean citrus note in the finish. After the tasting we enjoyed it with shrimp curry and saffron rice, but its a versatile wine and could easily pair with any shellfish or poultry dish." |

As youd expect from a russet colored grape, this 'white' wine has a slight hint of pink color. Its mouthcoating, silky-smooth, with ripe peach overtones and an edge of pink grapefruit through the tart minerally finish. A great match for risotto, salmon and shelfish." |
